It’s been a few weeks since I last wrote about Rocky. Well, snowy winter is still on and we have to be careful with the roads and black ice. To Rocky’s dismay some days we have to miss our daily walks too! In the meanwhile, Rocky continues to love the fluffy white stuff and gazes up in the sky as the flurries fall on his face, wondering where it’s coming from. It’s so much fun to watch him enjoy the snow.

But little did we expect new challenges during Rocky’s first winter and first snow. One day when the snow was a foot deep, he just didn’t get reach of the ground to do his business. We had to move him to a cleaned patch to get him relieved. Mischievous Rocky just didn’t like the thought of moving away from the snow. He finally ventured into the snow to do business with his legs almost covered !
“Well that was fun! It just disappeared into the white stuff!”
Then before you know Rocky was jumping into the snow for business. But wait! we didn’t expect the next challenge. One week with a warm day all snow melted. Rocky kept looking up and down at the wet ground.
“Hey! what happened? where is the white stuff? The ground is sooooo wet. Sorry guys I am a bit confused … Is there somewhere else I should go? “

I have heard dogs getting so used to pooping in the snow during winter that they don’t know what to do once it’s gone! Rocky just wouldn’t do his business for almost a day but who can ignore natures call for too long……..
Since last week we are back with lots of snow and Rocky is elated as he explores his many marked snow covered areas in the yard. I guess he knows now that this is short lived and the green grass will be back soon!
