Rocky at the Park

There is a lot going on with Rocky lately. He is keeping us busy and entertained. He is well adjusted in his new home where he has completed one whole month. In this one month his performance has been excellent ! He is potty trained, knows his name and responds to it, understands and follows the sit command.

Everyday I enjoy watching him and continue to explore his nature. I notice that he is scared of loud noises, sprinklers, big dogs barking. While walking in the neighborhood, if he has encountered any of these, he grabs part of his leash in his mouth and forces me to take him back to his safe zone (home). After all he is a puppy, a little boy!

Rocky loves to ride in the car! It’s a good time to explore neighborhood parks and trails. This weekend Rocky went out for a walk in the park trails and I noticed this funny side of him. In the park, he tackles his puppy fear in a different way.

“Nice! there is so much more to explore here than the boring neighborhood road.. The gravel path, the lovely green grass, so many folks to jump on to say “Hi”. But these big dogs are kind of scary. What should I do? I can’t leave this bliss. So much to chew and munch on. Too much flavor to explore! Common let’s be a little brave and try to ignore them. May be they will not notice me… Now what is this? this guy is not even on leash! Let’s try to ignore him and start exploring the grass on this side. Looks like that worked. Woohoo! Now why did we stop here to say high to this one. He is as big as the previous one but atleast on leash.”

Well Rocky just couldn’t play his trick when two lovely pets stopped by to say hi to him and one of them was a big German shepherd. Rocky gathered all his courage and with some coaxing went forward and greeted her in the most sweetest way. It was a pleasure to see him socialize.
